The short version: buy a book, own it, listen.
These terms cover using LongformU and buying audiobooks. They’re meant to be readable — here’s how it works.
The service
LongformU (“we”, “us”) is an audiobook shop and player. You browse and buy audiobooks on the web at longformu.com and listen to them in the LongformU apps for iOS and Android. The app and a LongformU account are free; you pay only for the books you buy.
Your account
You need a free account to buy or listen. Keep your login details secure; you’re responsible for activity on your account. Don’t share your account or use it to redistribute content.
Buying and owning books
Each audiobook is a one-time purchase. Once bought, it stays in your library and remains downloadable for as long as your account exists. There is no subscription, no credit system, and nothing to cancel.
Payment
Purchases are processed by Stripe in Australian dollars (AUD) at the price shown on the book’s page. By buying, you authorise that one-time charge.
Refunds
Purchases are final. Because narration is subjective, every book has a free sample from the real recording so you can hear the narrator before you buy. If a purchase failed or a book won’t play, contact us and we’ll make it right.
Your licence to listen
A purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to listen to the book on your own devices through LongformU. You may not copy, share, resell, or strip protection from the audio, or use it for any public or commercial performance.
Gifts
You can buy a book as a gift; the recipient redeems it into their own free account. A gift code can be redeemed once.
Availability and changes
The catalogue and prices can change, and titles may be added or removed. We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected on this page.
