LongformU is an audiobook and audio-course app. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep this deliberately simple: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't show ads, and we never sell your data.

Information we collect

Account details — your email address (required to sign in) and, optionally, a display name you choose.
Learning activity — your playback progress, bookmarks and notes, and quiz results and certificates. This is what lets you resume across devices and earn completion certificates.

You can browse and listen to free public-domain titles without an account. The data above is only stored on our servers once you sign in.

How we use it

To provide the app: play your library, save your place, and sync progress across your devices.
To personalize your experience, such as your “Continue listening” shelf.
To grade course quizzes and issue completion certificates.
To send account emails you request, such as a password-reset code.

What we don't do

We do not show advertising or use advertising identifiers.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing.

Payments

Purchases of paid titles are made on our website and processed by Stripe. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are never stored by the LongformU app. We record only which titles you own so they appear in your library.

Data security

All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Our backend is hosted on Convex, and access to your account requires authentication.

Data retention & deletion

You can delete your account and associated data at any time from the app (Account → Delete account), or by request. See our Data Deletion page for step-by-step instructions and details of what is removed.

Children

LongformU is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
