Editorial standards

How a book gets in.

We have fewer titles than the big stores, on purpose. Every book is picked by a person, so you can choose something at random and trust it.

01

Someone reads it

An editor reads the book, or has already. We do not put anything in the catalogue on a summary.

02

Someone listens to it

All of it, at normal speed. Narration that flattens a book gets turned down, however well the book sells.

03

Someone writes it up

Every listing note is written by the person who listened — including when they think you should play it at 1.2×.

What we turn down

A narrator that flattens a book, however well it sells. A recording with distracting production. A title we can’t stand behind. We would rather list less and be right than list everything and make you guess.
